You will guide a varied team to introduce sturdy, dependable, and groundbreaking invention solutions that fulfil customer needs. A day in this vibrant and fast-moving setting involves coordinating with your team to ensure the accomplishment of goals promptly and within budget. You will validate invention ideas against product requirements using structured verification and risk management processes, all while adhering to established project management practices. Your role is vital in reaching Siemens Energy’s product strategies, focusing on innovative gas turbine compositions that cater to the world’s constantly changing energy requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Support program managers in crafting design briefs, then convert them into program plans with attainable achievements.
2. Control an engineering team and support resources using a visual management system to deliver work on schedule, cost, and quality while handling conflicts as they arise.
3. Ensure process compliance of the work in the team and approve the work outputs.
4. Assist with technical problem-solving within your build team.
5. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action activity related to the work of your team.
6. Support rig and engine test programs to verify and validate technical solutions.
7. Explore opportunities for improvement and take the lead in incorporating them into working practices within the engineering subject area.
What You Bring
8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
9. Legal right to work in Canada or a company-supported internal transfer.
10. Motivation to lead a multi-disciplinary team in crafting engineering solutions.
11. At least 5 years of experience in a gas turbine build team.
12. Proficiency in English is required to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
