Job Description:
Purpose of the role
We are looking for customer-focused and enthusiastic candidate for the Software Discovery and Packaging Team, who has a genuine interest in solving IT issues and is empathetic to our client needs and requirements. The applicant should have a very good understanding of software application packaging, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams.
The Application Packaging Team is responsible for managing the end to end delivery of applications and Operating System gold builds, and the on-going lifecycle management for those applications.
***Please note this is an on-site role, based in Aldermaston ***
As the role is subject to security clearance, we require a sole UK nationals for this position and candidates should be willing to undergo relevant clearance.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:
5. Experience of Application Lifecycle Management in an Enterprise environment as part of a desktop transformation project
6. Strong Application Packaging experience using Flexera Admin Studio, InstallShield, IS Recapture & ORCA
7. Expert understanding of MSI technology, including transforms.
8. Document package configuration
9. Package defect remediation
10. Experience of large OS migration projects (preferably Windows 10 and Windows 11)
11. Data Analysis and reporting skills
12. Good communication skills (customer facing as you may need to speak to people in the business)
13. Experience of managing and maintaining a MECM CB production environment
14. Microsoft Active Directory knowledge
15. Software deployment and 3rd line support and troubleshooting
16. Understand and input into desktop engineering standards, processes and best practices
17. Involvement in delivering large scale deployments of software, e.g. Microsoft Office
18. Experience of large OS migration projects (preferably windows 11)
19. Highlight changes to processes or errors to the process owners. Maintain own process and working instruction documents
20. Work within the contractual guidelines and DXC Statement of Work, or highlight any local shadow IT agreements
21. Be politically savvy and understand the concerns and priorities of our customer and our own support teams
ESSENTIALS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
22. Basic Understanding of IT project management methodologies including agile and waterfall
23. Basic Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
24. Microsoft Active Directory
25. Must have packaged applications for Windows 7 and Windows 10 OS platforms.
26. Must have experience of complex application packaging. (E.g. Autodesk, MS Office, etc.)

29. Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and comfortable working with ambiguity
