Family & Children Solicitor Director (x2) – Milton Keynes
Leading law firm is looking for a dedicated and experienced Solicitor Director for a highly sought permanent position.
The firm serves corporate entities and private individuals across more than 25 practice areas from offices throughout London and across England and Wales.
The Family & Children Department is recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, providing confidential advice and representation. The team includes practitioners who have achieved the Law Society's Children Law and Family Law Advanced accreditations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Board and collaborate to ensure performance targets are achieved.
* Manage and oversee complex family matters.
* Responsible for all aspects of Family work, including divorce, financial disputes and remedies; international elements of child abduction/adoption; injunctions and non‑molestation orders; and provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
* Manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to handle appropriate caseload types and complexities.
* Assist with delivery of training and development within the department.
* Deal with a range of Family law matters and undertake own advocacy.
* Maintain a professional pro‑active approach, deliver strong client care skills and drive business development and marketing activities to supplement core work volumes.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Must have a clean, valid Practicing Certificate at the time of applying.
* 3+ Years of PQE.
* Accreditation required: Family Law Panel, Resolution Specialist, or ICACU panel.
* Experienced Family Law Solicitor with a proven track record managing complex and sensitive child abduction cases.
* Strong management skills and prior supervisory experience.
* Team player who can address concerns fairly, foster a positive culture and encourage cross‑referrals.
* Excellent client care skills with the ability to deal with vulnerable client matters sensitively.
* Excellent networking and communication skills with the ability to market the company and generate new business.
* Comprehensive knowledge of publicly funded family law and capability to manage privately funded cases.
* Strong IT skills – familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management.

Salary (NQ‑3PQE): £40,000‑£45,000 p.a.; Panel‑Accredited Salary: £50,000 p.a.
