Job description
Due to sustained project wins and an exciting pipeline of work, the Civil Engineering team is expanding. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to step into a role with real responsibility, working alongside senior engineers and directors, and directly engaging with clients on a variety of mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities
5. Lead and deliver civil/structural design projects from feasibility through to completion.
6. Carry out structural analysis and design to Eurocodes and other standards.
7. Produce clear technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
8. Attend and lead client and multidisciplinary project meetings.
9. Undertake site inspections and oversee testing and commissioning activities.
10. Mentor junior engineers and ensure high-quality outputs.
11. Ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, and quality standards.
12. Act as CRE, CEM, or DPE/PE (where approved) on Network Rail or TOC projects.
What We're Looking For
13. Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering (BEng/BSc, MEng, or HNC/HND with professional membership).
14. Chartered or working towards Chartership (MICE/MIStructE).
15. At least 3 years' experience in a consultancy environment.
16. Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural design in rail, highways, or related sectors.
17. Proficient in report writing, design software, AutoCAD/MicroStation; BIM experience advantageous.
18. Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
19. Flexible and willing to work occasional nights/weekends in a rail environment.
