Role Overview: Managing the Quality Assurance team and being responsible for the overall quality of products released by the company in accordance with European Standards, British Standards, Internal Specifications and Quality Plans thereby preventing nonconforming product from reaching the next process stage.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Quality Team, including all personnel responsibilities, supervision of lab technicians, and delivery of quality control training.

Supervise, implement, and continuously monitor the quality control programme and departmental activities to ensure compliance with company standards.
*
Maintain responsibility for ISO 9001, ensuring systems, procedures, and documentation remain compliant and effective.
*
Conduct internal audits to identify and document structural weaknesses, driving corrective and preventive actions.
*
Implement and oversee product testing, sampling, and inspection procedures throughout production to ensure conformity with specifications and standards.
*
Maintain accurate documentation and detailed reports of product testing, inspections, and quality activities.
*
Monitor, evaluate, and manage customer complaints and non-conformance reports, including segregation, handling, rework, and review of corrective actions.
*
Coordinate with customers and external vendors regarding product specifications, deviations, and pre-production requirements.
*
Submit samples for external laboratory audits and manage external assessments conducted by BSI, BBA, AENOR, and SABS.
*
Lead daily production and quality meetings, ensuring effective implementation and follow-up of agreed actions.

Manage calibration control systems to ensure all equipment remains compliant and fit for purpose.

Review and enhance existing policies and quality systems, consulting with staff and departments to implement improvements and assess their effectiveness.

Promote safe working practices within a manufacturing environment while driving a structured programme of continuous improvement across all activities.
Skills & Requirements:
*
Graduate qualification in a plastics or quality-related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience within a Quality/Engineering role.
*
Strong technical ability to interpret product drawings, specifications, standards, and test procedures, ensuring full compliance.
*
Proven experience in coaching, developing, and training others, with excellent people management skills.
*
Effective decision-making capability with strong organisational, planning, prioritisation, and time management skills.
*
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage internal management and external customers.
*
Computer literate, with experience using spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and other relevant business systems.
