Behaviour & Engagement Co-Ordinator

Location: Teesside
Employment Term: Flexible, Temp to Perm, September Start
Employment Type: Monday- Friday, Ad-hoc

Teaching Personnel are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a behaviour and engagement co-ordinator working across a variety of schools in Teesside. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them to re-engage positively with learning.

Role and Responsibilities

* Support the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
* Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to pupils to help develop self-regulation, confidence, and resilience.
* Support the implementation of individual behaviour and learning plans, ensuring strategies are consistently applied.
* Be a visible and approachable presence across the school to help maintain calm and consistency.
* Assist in the delivery of enrichment and community engagement projects, including work experience and character development programmes.
* Promote and contribute to the school’s reward and recognition systems, celebrating student progress and success.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

* Experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care, or community setting.
* Understanding of SEND, behaviour management, and inclusive classroom practice.
* Awareness of key frameworks such as the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, and GDPR.

Preferred Skills

* Knowledge of Zones of Regulation or similar behaviour and emotional regulation approaches.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff.
* Confident in using assistive technology or adaptive learning tools to support student access.
* Child-centred, patient, and creative in problem-solving.
* Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic learning environment.
* Ability to drive with access to own vehicle.
