Role Details
About The Role:
Days of Working: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
Additional Info: 1 in 4 weeks 24 hour callout over a 7 day period
This role is for a qualified and experienced Electrical Maintenance Operative based at University of Sussex, for Sussex Estates and Facilities. The position involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across the estate. It requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled PPM tasks on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance calls and carry out fault diagnosis, repairs, and replacements.
* Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and reporting in line with regulatory and company standards.
* Liaise with site management and other trades to coordinate maintenance tasks effectively.
* Maintain accurate records of completed work, parts used, and follow-up requirements.
Qualifications
* Must have Right to Work in the UK.
* A willingness to go through DBS checks if successful in this role.
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
* 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification.
* Proven experience in electrical maintenance, including PPM and reactive repairs.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
