We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the infrastructure that supports one of Europe’s leading online off-price retailers.
This is more than a support role. With 80% of your time focused on project delivery and infrastructure improvement, you will help shape a secure, scalable and resilient environment that enables innovation across the business.

The Role Scope
As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate as a senior technical authority within Tech Operations.
Your focus will be on ensuring our infrastructure remains secure, scalable and high-performing, while driving forward modernisation initiatives aligned to our architecture roadmap.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Infrastructure Team Lead, Head of Tech Operations and wider technology stakeholders, acting as a senior escalation point and contributing to best-in-class infrastructure standards across the business.
Role Key Responsibilities
✨ Infrastructure Strategy & Standards
1. Contribute to the definition of infrastructure principles and technical standards
2. Ensure solutions align to architectural direction and long-term scalability
3. Evaluate emerging technologies to support future capability
✨Project Delivery & Modernisation
4. Lead or contribute to enterprise-scale infrastructure projects
5. Design and implement secure, resilient solutions
6. Drive documentation and best practice across the environment
7. Support ongoing infrastructure transformation initiatives
✨Operational Excellence
8. Act as a senior escalation point for complex 2nd/3rd line issues
9. Support network, server, identity and virtualisation environments
10. Maintain system performance, availability and security
11. Participate in an on-call rota (

12. Mentor and support junior engineers
13. Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
14. Create alignment across technical stakeholders
About You
✨What We’re Looking For
15. Firewall expertise and core routing/switching (Junos Cli, Juniper, OSPF, BGP, VLANs).
16. Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects.
17. Windows Server & End User Computing.
18. Identity & Access Management (AD, Entra and Okta).
19. Virtualisation (VMware & GCP).
20. EDM/MDM (Intune, SCCM and IRU).
21. Backup solutions (VMware backup products eg. Veeam, IDPA).
22. PowerShell scripting and API experience.
23. Strong understanding of IT best practice
24. Driving license required

25. Terraform, Linux administration, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Cisco Meraki, Google Workspace.
