Our retail outlets provide much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops, a furniture warehouse, a donation centre, two clearance shops, and two coffee shops! We also have two online eBay platforms, for clothes and general goods and an online furniture store. It’s a big operation!
You will be joining a highly motivated hard-working team who are driven to generate income for Ashgate Hospice, they achieve this goal by providing a community hub for local families, providing quality produce and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure high standards of shop presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising to create an inviting environment for customers.
* Contribute to the leadership and management of team members, fostering a collaborative environment where team members support each other in overcoming challenges and achieving goals.
* Deliver excellent customer service to donors, customers, and the community, promoting our hospice's vision.
* Address customer enquiries professionally, and ensure a positive shopping experience for all
* Support and promote a respectful, compassionate and inclusive workplace culture by living and upholding Ashgate values and behaviours in daily activities ensuring that all staff and volunteers feel valued and heard.

What you’ll bring:
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple task
* Excellent people management and leadership skills with the proven ability to manage and motivate others to achieve exceptional results.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers at all levels and from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written communication) with the ability to summarise and present ideas and information to influence at all levels
* Experience of working at management or supervisory level in a retail environment
* Experience of working within a customer facing role
* Understanding of cash handling, banking, and health and safety practices.
* Visual merchandising experience.

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions.
