About the Role
Are you ready to take your career in structured cabling to the next level? We are on the lookout for passionate Data Engineers to join our expanding team! In this exciting role, you will lead the way in:
* Conducting surveys and installing copper and fibre cabling
* Managing containment, termination, testing, labelling, and documentation for structured cabling systems
* Working with cutting-edge technologies, including Wi-Fi Access Points and Smart Hands services
You’ll collaborate closely with our Assistant Data Engineers and Apprentices, ensuring high-quality installations and rigorous testing. As a seasoned engineer, you’ll also have the opportunity to mentor and guide your team, making a real impact on project efficiency and quality.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead with a strong focus on Health and Safety, ensuring a safety-first culture
* Adhere to all NG Bailey policies, processes, and procedures
* Ensure compliance with company standards and exceed client expectations
* Provide leadership and mentorship to Trainees, Assistant Data Engineers, and Apprentices
* Maintain accurate records of materials, deliveries, and project stock
* Deliver timely and accurate project reporting
* Monitor quality and productivity, maintaining daily site records
* Foster positive relationships with customers to optimize future opportunities
* Ensure design and installation meet internal and client specifications
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in installing Structured Cabling Systems
* Knowledge of Voice Cabling Systems
* Proficiency with Fluke Analysers
* Ability to troubleshoot faults in structured cabling and Voice Systems
* Capability to work from construction drawings
* Team player with the ability to work independently
* Proactive mindset and excellent customer interaction skills
* Willingness to travel and adapt to customer needs
Additional Requirements
* Security Clearance (conducted by NG Bailey vetting team during onboarding)
* Full UK Driving Licence

* Health and Safety Training (e.g., First Aid at Work)
* UKATA (CAT A) Asbestos Awareness
* ECS/CSCS Card
* Manual Handling Certification
* Working at Height Certification
* IOSH Working Safely Certification
* IPAF Certification
* Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI) Accreditation
