Key Responsibilities: As a Social Worker in our Children in Care Team, you will: Manage a diverse and complex caseload of children and young people in care. Undertake comprehensive assessments of needs, risks, and strengths, informing robust care plans. Undertake direct work with children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and acted upon. Develop, implement, and review child-centred care plans, ensuring permanency and stability. Collaborate effectively with foster carers, residential providers, schools, health services, and other partner agencies. Prepare high-quality reports for Looked After Reviews, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings. Participate in legal proceedings, presenting evidence and advocating for children's best interests. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records in line with statutory requirements and local policies. Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of children is paramount. What We Are Looking For: A qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England. Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in children's social work, specifically within a Children in Care or Looked After Children's team. Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and policies pertaining to children in care (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations). Proven ability to undertake complex assessments, formulate plans, and manage risk effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a demanding caseload and meet statutory deadlines. A commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of children and young people. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
