Overview
Intertek Metoc has established a record of excellence in delivering a diverse range of offshore energy projects over the last 30+ years and is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic marine environmental consultant to join its Environment Team. The role involves undertaking and managing a wide range of environmental studies, including EIA, SEA and HRA, across a portfolio of projects and sectors including subsea cables, offshore renewables, and oil and gas — supporting consultancy solutions that are sustainable as we transition to a low carbon future. The role requires technical expertise, permitting and consenting experience, and strong project management skills, with the potential to develop the role to include and support new products and services in the marine sector to meet growing demand for sustainable energy solutions. It provides an opportunity to engage in all aspects of consultancy services from specialist technical support to business and staff development, offering a clear path to career progression.
Responsibilities
* Undertake and manage a wide range of environmental studies, including EIA, SEA and HRA.
* Work across a portfolio of projects and sectors including subsea cables, offshore renewables, and oil and gas.
* Ensure consultancy solutions are sustainable as part of transitioning to a low carbon future.
* Engage in permitting and consenting processes and provide project management oversight.
* Support development of new products and services in the marine sector as demand grows.
* Contribute to the delivery of consultancy services from specialist technical support to business and staff development.
Qualifications
* Degree or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (environmental sciences or similar).
* Track record of liaison with regulators and other stakeholders.
* Demonstrable experience delivering consenting and environmental assessment solutions in the marine energy / industry sectors.
* Strong technical, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
* 8+ years of experience in a relevant discipline.
* Skilled in ornithology, marine mammals or fish and shellfish assessments.
* Experience with energy transition projects.
