What is the role?
We are recruiting for a Technical Co-ordinator to work in our busy Technical Department. You will be an integral part of the Technical team overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants involved in project management and administration of all technical and design matters for various residential projects.
This role supports multiple housing developments by delivering cost-effective engineering solutions and providing services to other departments within the business. The successful candidate must be adaptable and have a strong, consistent management approach to managing external consultants.
The Role Will Include
1. Assist in producing layouts and technical reports for Land Appraisals; understand working drawings.
2. Brief and commission site investigations, topographical surveys, and other assessment reports on land acquired.
3. Brief engineering and architectural consultants on scope of design, including roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, foundation designs, and other substructures below DPC level, whether private or adopted.
4. Negotiate/enquire with statutory bodies and utility companies on environmental, drainage, highways, and other engineering issues during land appraisal.
5. Issue engineering information to Commercial, Construction, and Sales departments.
6. Negotiate fees and appoint consultants.
7. Respond to technical queries.
8. Comply with responsibilities outlined in the Group's Health, Safety, and Environment Policy.
What we need from you?
1. Technical experience with understanding of current building regulations and CDM; knowledge of EA/Water Authority/Highway regulations and adoption agreements.
2. Good understanding of AutoCAD and effective communication skills with internal teams and external bodies.
3. Enthusiastic, hardworking, willing to undertake training, able to work independently, and a good team fit.
