Homes and Neighbourhoods currently manages 22,000 homes for Kirklees Council. We at Property, undertake the repairs and maintenance.
We are looking to fill Stores operative roles within Homes & Neighbourhoods. Working in a busy stores environment that has over 2000 lines of stock, your role as Technical Assistant Logistics, will be to provide an efficient, effective, and customer focused materials supply service that achieves the objectives of both customer and organisation.
Recent changes to our delivery model require our stores team to deliver van stocks and materials requests direct to site or ensure materials are efficiently picked and ready to collect in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of a stores process from receiving goods to issuing items and delivering to site. A supportive working environment will ensure that you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed with us.
Key skills include;
* Customer service – including receiving calls from operatives, identifying correct materials and delivering to site or ready for a speedy collection.
* Stock control – methodical knowledge and practice of agreed procedures
* Warehousing – keeping orderly stores and records
* Team work – contributing ideas and creating flexibility to ensure all team objectives are delivered
* Full Driving Licence - essential
* Forklift (counter balance and reach) Licence – desirable but training will be provided
* You are also required to exhibit Kirklees Council’s behaviours; Positive, Supportive, Communicate, Honest, Respectful and Flexible
