Overview

Theatre Practitioner - RECOVERY Exeter Hospital | Nursing | Bank | Part Time. Up to £26.50 per hour depending on experience. Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.


Main duties of the job

As a Theatre Practitioner in Recovery, you will:

* Work with leading consultants and like-minded professionals
* Enjoy a varied caseload with state-of-the-art technology, equipment and facilities
* Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
* Create high-quality care and patient experiences that are clinically effective and evidence based
* Provide compassionate post-operative care, ensuring patients are safe and comfortable during their recovery
* Participate in maintaining a sterile operating environment and adhering to all safety protocols
* Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth transitions from theatre to recovery, and interact closely with colleagues on the ward
* Monitor patients\' vital signs and manage their recovery from anaesthesia safely and effectively
* Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development

About us

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.

Job responsibilities

As a Theatre Practitioner / ODP in Recovery at our hospital, you\'ll be alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic. You\'re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC or HCPC. With post-registration experience, you\'re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care. As a Theatre Practitioner in Recovery, you will:

Qualifications

* Registered with the appropriate governing body, including NMC or HCPC, with post-registration experience


Experience

* Experience as a Theatre Practitioner / ODP in Recovery, with the ability to be alert, focused, and empathetic
