As we grow, were looking for a Design Engineer who enjoys solving real engineering problems and seeing their designs built, tested, and installed.
What Youll Do Youll be involved from concept to commissioning, working on everything from quick design improvements to fully bespoke automation systems.
Design and develop mechanical concepts using electrical and pneumatic components
Produce clear, accurate manufacturing drawings (BS8888 compliant)
Work directly with customers throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure designs meet regulations, standards, and customer expectations
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, assembly, and controls teams
Support build, testing, and on-site commissioning when required
Travel to customer sites occasionally (overnight stays may be needed)
What Youll Bring Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or Degree)
Experience designing machinery or moving mechanical systems
Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or Solid Edge)
A practical, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving ability
Confidence communicating across teams and with customers
Nice to have:
Experience in automated machinery (food or pharma an advantage)
Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM Vault
Experience with ERP / MRP systems
