Location: Derby – On-site (5 days a week)

A Software Engineer is required to join a delivery-focused engineering team working on the development of modern, full-stack applications for a key client environment.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with end users and stakeholders, contributing directly to the design, build and improvement of production systems. The work is delivered in a collaborative, agile setting, with a strong emphasis on clean code, secure development and engineering best practice.
Due to the nature of the work, this role is site-based in Derby, and candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.
* 1 year+ of experience as a software engineer
* Develop and manage SQL-based data models across relational databases
* Work within an Agile team, contributing to stand‑ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
* Apply secure development practices, including OWASP standards and authentication protocols
* Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployments
* Participate in code reviews and support the continuous improvement of engineering processes
* Collaborate with stakeholders in a client‑facing delivery environment
* Maintain familiarity with Docker, Linux, Azure DevOps, or other modern tooling where applicable
