About the Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering services provider is seeking an experienced EC&I Engineering Design Manager to oversee the delivery of electrical, control, and instrumentation design projects across a range of industrial sectors. This is a strategic leadership role,bining technical oversight with team management and client engagement. The successful candidate will play a key part in shaping project oues and driving engineering excellence acrossplex, high-value assignments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage EC&I design activities across multiple projects, ensuring quality,pliance, and timely delivery
2. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of EC&I engineers and designers
3. Oversee the preparation of design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and schedules
4. Ensure designs meet relevant standards and regulations ( BS7671, IEC, ATEX)
5. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to define scope and resolve technical challenges
6. Support tendering and proposal development with accurate technical input and resource planning
7. Conduct design reviews and ensure continuous improvement in design processes and outputs
8. Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a key technical point of contact
Candidate Requirements
9. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or a related discipline
10. Extensive experience in EC&I design within industrial or process environments
11. Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and delivering design projects
12. Strong understanding of applicable standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
13. Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar
14. Excellentmunication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
15. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
