Are you an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career? We are working with a successful multi-disciplinary planning and architecture firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality, design-led projects across the region. They are now seeking a motivated Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team in either their Cardiff or Bristol studio.
About the Role
As an Assistant Town Planner, you will support senior colleagues in delivering a diverse range of planning projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, heritage and regeneration sectors. You will gain hands-on experience throughout the planning process—from site appraisals and policy research to preparing planning applications, appeals and client reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents Undertake planning research, site assessments and policy analysis Engage with local authorities, clients and stakeholders Support senior planners and architects in delivering high-quality planning advice Contribute to written reports, design statements and project presentations
About You:
Ideally 1–2 years of experience in a town planning role (private or public sector) Degree in Town Planning or related discipline; RTPI accredited preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills A proactive approach, with good organisational and analytical abilities Interest in design, sustainable development and high-quality placemaking
