Overview
Project Engineering Lead – Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). Location: Leonardo Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Role snapshot
You will play a major role in defining the engineering elements of joint working and interpret the UK elements of contributing to delivering operational capability. The PEL will engage a mixed engineering IPT on early lifecycle engineering tasks including Requirements Definition, Concepting, System Development, Modelling and Technology Maturation. The role requires leadership and strong systems engineering to ensure the IPT is supported and delivery is maintained.
Responsibilities
* Define and lead engineering elements for joint working within GCAP projects.
* Engage a multi-disciplinary engineering IPT on early lifecycle tasks: Requirements Definition, Concepting, System Development, Modelling and Technology Maturation.
* Lead technical investigations and redesign activities in line with project priorities.
* Produce effective, realistic plans to deliver solutions and communicate them to Engineering Management to ensure forward load and resources are available.
* Ensure lifecycle management processes and project engineering processes are followed.
* Collaborate with Engineering Management and Chief Engineers to make and enact decisions quickly within the project.
* Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with engineers, managers, subject matter experts and customers.
* Lead and motivate a multi-discipline engineering team and ensure the team is equipped to deliver against commitments.

* Ability to track and manage a diverse set of activities with many interactions and dependencies.
