Highway Development Officer

Traffic and Highways are looking for a self‑motivated individual to join our team as a Highway Development Officer. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day contact with all the development sites within the borough. You will need good verbal and written communication skills, encouraging engagement to ensure highway safety is maintained from the start of the project to the end.

You will be required to maintain electronic records of all site meetings, decisions, quotations for works on the highway, disputes and complaints. You should have a proven track record of working with and answering questions from elected members or be able to demonstrate ability at a similar level. Ideally having qualifications in LANTRA, NRASWA or working towards them.

You will actively identify new sites, recording pre‑start conditions of the highway, gaining contact details for the site manager and the main contractor, identifying licences required and ensuring these are completed and approved in a timely manner. Where necessary, compile records for re‑charges and when required legal action.
