About The Role
Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Cabling Database Engineer on the Hinkley Point C Project.
Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. It will make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions, offsetting 9 million tonnes of CO₂ each year.
Role Location & Flexibility
10 % site based and 90 % remote/office based – flexible on location.
Key Responsibilities
* Update and maintain cable tray network in the database
* Support configuration‑management checks on inputted and reported data
* Regular reporting on cable data upload and processing
* Import data and upload cable routes into CMPIC database
* Perform cable‑management reporting and keep cable lists up to date
* Ensure accurate data loading by the team
* Act as liaison between software company (Cloudis) and MEH Alliance
* Learn and resolve CMPIC error codes
* Assist with site support and queries when required
Required Skills & Experience (Essential)
* Up to intermediate proficiency with MS Office
* Further education academic qualification (minimum HNC, preferably engineering discipline)
* Experience managing large volumes of data
* Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance
Desirable Skills (Advantageous)
* Knowledge and experience of cable installation in an industrial setting
* Knowledge and experience of applying robust quality processes and procedures
* Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar
