MEP Commissioning Lead Our client is a leading developer and delivery partner for large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe. This role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership position in ensuring successful project delivery from installation through to handover and operational readiness. About the Role The MEP Commissioning Lead will lead and manage the commissioning process across a major engineering project, ensuring all systems are tested, verified, and handed over in accordance with project specifications, statutory requirements, and industry best practice. Acting as the primary authority for commissioning activities, you will drive the commissioning programme, coordinate contractors and stakeholders, and ensure systems achieve required operational and performance outcomes. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, programme management capability, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and fully operational facilities. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the Commissioning Execution Plan, including commissioning strategy, programme, and methodology Manage and coordinate all commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and specialist systems Lead pre-commissioning, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and performance validation Coordinate and manage specialist contractors, consultants, and commissioning engineers Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes including CIBSE, BSRIA, IET, BREEAM, and Building Regulations Chair commissioning meetings and maintain regular reporting on commissioning progress and risks Manage witnessing and demonstrations with client representatives, validation engineers, and statutory authorities Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site testing, and integrated systems testing Review technical submittals, schematics, commissioning documentation, and test procedures Identify and resolve commissioning issues, ensuring systems meet design and operational performance requirements Develop and deliver training plans for operational and facilities management teams Manage commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packages Ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project programme milestones Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on complex construction or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of M&E systems, controls, and commissioning processes Experience managing commissioning programmes and multidisciplinary teams Strong understanding of commissioning standards including CIBSE, BSRIA, and IET Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills Strong organisational and reporting capabilities Valid CSCS or ECS card preferred
