Transport Manager - 3 Years Experience Required - Whitney - Permanent Role.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:30
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Purpose of the Role: They are looking for a hands-on Transport Manager to take full responsibility for their day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strong commercial performance. This is not a desk-based role. They are looking for someone who is present, proactive, and confident in managing drivers, challenging performance, and maintaining full control of the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage transport operations, including routing, planning, and fleet utilisation.
* Monitor and improve vehicle performance, efficiency, and downtime.
* Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and operator requirements.
* Take ownership of cost control, KPIs, and operational profitability.
* Work closely with planners and operational teams.
* Lead and manage drivers, ensuring performance and accountability.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness.
* Ensure reliable and timely service delivery, resolving customer issues and complaints effectively.
* Support maintaining accreditation standards, including the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
Essential requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in transport or logistics.
* Minimum 2 years managing drivers or operational teams.
* CPC qualified or actively working towards it.
* Experience using TMS, routing systems, and MS Office.
* Good knowledge of the Oxfordshire area.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
* Experience in waste management / skip hire / similar industry.
* IOSH or equivalent safety training.
