About the role
This vital role creates space for people to become still, breathe deeply, reflect and connect. It ensures individuals are seen, respected, and supported to navigate their day with empowerment and spiritual connection.
Fundamental to pastoral care services, this position involves coordinating spiritual care to meet the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of residents, families, and staff at our Wembley Campus and RAC homes. Embracing spiritual, cultural, and religious diversity, this role models MercyCare’s Mission, Ethos, Values, and Ethics.
About you
You’ll have a vibrant spirituality that grounds and drives your engagement with others. You’ll understand and be committed to the spiritual care needs of the elderly, their families, and friends, with experience in grief, dying, death, including Catholic practices. Your key skills include:
* Creating and leading spiritual reflection and embracing diversity across religious traditions
* Strong understanding of Catholic sacramental practice
* Assessment and care planning, including using online care management systems
* Coordinating diverse teams with relationship-building, interpersonal skills, and emotional maturity
* Foundational counselling and group work skills, with excellent communication across verbal, written, and digital mediums
* Excellent administrative, computer, planning, and organizational skills
* National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
