We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Safety Engineer to join our client’s renowned consultancy – a future-focused, people-centric company redefining what's possible in the energy sector.
You will help deliver and lead safety commissions, support clients across the energy transition, and play a central role in developing internal capability. This is an ideal role for a collaborative, forward-thinking professional who thrives in technically challenging environments and is keen to contribute to both client success and team growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead or support delivery of safety-related studies and projects with a focus on technical quality and client outcomes.
* Conduct safety assessments for high-hazard industries, including QRA, consequence analysis, COMAH/Safety Case Regulations, and formal safety assessments.
* Develop high-quality technical reports and review the work of others.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their technical and professional development.
* Engage directly with clients to understand needs, offer expert advice, and build lasting relationships.
* Prepare winning proposals and cost estimations for new opportunities.
* Ensure delivery aligns with scope, budget, schedule, and internal quality standards.
* Embrace flexibility to support other business needs or ad-hoc tasks that align with your skills and development.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
* Chartered (or working toward chartered status in the near term).
* Substantial experience in Process or Technical Safety, ideally within the energy sector.
* Strong grounding in safety and risk management methodologies.
* Hands-on experience in QRA and consequence analysis, with PHAST knowledge preferred.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., COMAH, Safety Case Regulations) and ability to apply this effectively.
Skills & Attributes
* Technically curious, motivated by excellence, and passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes.
* Strong report writing and communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
* Confident managing and mentoring others.
* Able to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
* Commercially aware and confident supporting business development and proposal efforts.
