Are you able to work with children and young people using a trauma informed approach?
We are currently seeking a part time (3 days per week) Project Worker 2,with a counselling level 4 qualification or equivalent, to join our therapeutic counselling Service. The service is available to children and young people across Swindon and Wiltshire, who have experienced sexual harm. This is an exciting opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to engage young people within our local area.
The main office base for the service is located at Nexus Business Centre in Swindon. However, the service is available to children and young people across Swindon and Wiltshire. The service aims to offer children and young people support in a rage of locations such as schools and community centres, so the ability to travel throughout Swindon and Wiltshire is essential.
You will have received a Project Worker 2 job description and person specification. This is a generic role in use throughout the organisation. Key Responsibilities:
Directly support children and young people under 18, using a trauma informed approach, who have experienced sexual violence or abuse but either fall below the threshold for clinical services, or do not want to engage with them.
Hold a 1:1 counselling caseload for children and young people who have been victims of CSA.
Accurate case note recording
Multi-agency working, with both statutory and non-statutory services
Provid training and support for frontline professionals who are engaged with children and young people on a day-to-day basis. Training designed to improve professional's understanding, identification of issues, and effective responses
Provide telephone and face to face consultation to professionals
Attend Core Groups and Child Protection conferences where required
Keep up to date with national developments and approaches to sexual violence or abuse
