Basildon, Essex | Permanent, Full-Time | £40,000 – £50,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Automation Technician or Control Systems Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for multiple skilled professionals to join a dynamic and growing team designing and assembling bespoke automation systems used around the globe.

This is a hybrid role combining hands-on electrical control system work with software programming — perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working across the full project lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Designing PLC-based electrical control systems

Programming PLCs, HMIs, safety systems, and configuring drives and remote I/O

Integrating equipment such as vision systems, servos, and conveyors

Fault-finding, testing, and commissioning machines in-house and on client sites

Collaborating with electricians, panel builders, and wider teams for smooth assembly and deployment

Occasional international travel for commissioning (approx. 40%)

✅ What We’re Looking For:

Level 3 qualification or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

Strong experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLCs

Confidence in PLC/HMI programming and understanding of SCADA systems

Able to troubleshoot electrical control systems and perform onsite commissioning

A demonstrable career path and technical progression

Willingness to travel internationally as part of project support

Nice to Have (But Not Essential):

Background in pharmaceutical, process, or high-spec manufacturing

Exposure to systems involving ATEX/explosive environments

Familiarity with remote I/O, vision systems, or servo configuration

What’s In It For You?

Salary up to £50,000 (DOE)

Discretionary annual bonus

23 days holiday + bank holidays + 2 discretionary days

Life insurance, private healthcare, pension (up to 8.5% after 2 years)

Disability coverage, cycle-to-work scheme

Monday to Friday days-based role (core hours: 09:00–12:30 and 14:00–16:00)

Flexible start/finish hours and a 37.5-hour week

Full training provided on bespoke systems and equipment

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company focused on delivering world-class automation solutions — with a real emphasis on personal and professional development. If you're ready to bring your technical skills to a supportive and skilled team, we’d love to hear from you.
