About the Role & Team
To lead the project and construction teams to deliver the development to quality, time and budget targets including managing budgets, schedules, contractors, and ensuring quality standards are met across all phases of construction. The role will be site based in Central London with some occasional travel required to our head office in Uxbridge.
Key Responsibilities
* Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner to budget and quality targets.
* Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
* Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
* Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
* Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
* Acquire materials and monitor stocks to handle inadequacies in a timely manner.
* Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
* Ensure supervision of the work of sub‑contractors and give them guidance when needed.
* Evaluate progress and conduct weekly subcontractor meetings.
* Prepare detailed reports.
* Ensure adherence to all health, safety and environmental standards and report issues.
* Liaise with sales, technical, development, local authorities and other key stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in residential construction as a Project Manager or Project Lead.
* Proven track record of delivering multi‑unit residential projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulations.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
* Well‑versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.
* In‑depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
* Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards, including NHBC.
* Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Thrives on challenge, is resilient and promotes best practice.
* Capable of remaining calm and controlled under pressure.
* Communicates and negotiates persuasively, capable of influencing others and building rapport with colleagues.
* Able to build relationships across functions, internally and externally.
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
* NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Site Management.
