Responsibilities
1. Manage all commercial and contractual elements of assigned projects, ensuring full compliance with relevant procedures and contract terms.
2. Lead cost estimating, tender preparation, and subcontractor procurement activities.
3. Monitor project budgets, conduct regular valuations, and produce monthly financial reports.
4. Identify, value, and manage variations, compensation events, and claims.
5. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure alignment on commercial goals.
6. Support the mentoring and development of junior commercial staff.
7. Contribute to the continual improvement of commercial processes across the business.
Requirements
8. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
9. Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects (e.g. highways, utilities, groundwork).
10. Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract frameworks.
11. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
12. High level of attention to detail and commercial awareness.
13. Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g. Excel, CATO, or Causeway).
