What You Will Do:
* Lead, manage, and supervise a multidisciplinary team including youth justice workers, social workers, probation officers, education, and health practitioners.
* Provide regular reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development support.
* Manage workloads, allocation, and staffing capacity to ensure effective service delivery.
* Ensure statutory duties under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 are met.
* Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of court reports, assessments, and intervention plans.
* Support staff attending Youth Courts, panels, and multi‑agency meetings.
* Authorise key decisions and plans in line with local governance arrangements.
* Maintain oversight of high-risk cases, including serious youth violence, exploitation, and safeguarding concerns.
* Ensure effective risk assessment, management, and review processes are in place.
* Lead on quality assurance, audits, and performance monitoring against YJB standards and local KPIs.
* Drive service improvement informed by data, inspections, and feedback.
* Work closely with police, courts, probation, education, health, social care, and voluntary sector partners.
* Represent the Youth Justice Service at strategic and operational partnership forums.
* Support the delivery of integrated services addressing offending behaviour and underlying needs.
