Responsibilities
* Support our community team in ensuring delivery of high‑quality patient care, upholding patient dignity with kindness and compassion.
* Demonstrate responsibility to patients, relatives, and colleagues through contribution to the development and monitoring of evidence‑based practice and to health and social care programmes.
* Provide and monitor nursing care for a designated group of patients during a care episode.
* Actively contribute to an effective learning environment.
* Demonstrate good understanding of the Mental Health Act / Deprivation of Liberty Standards (DoLs) and apply principles to everyday practice, seeking advice/guidance from the Registered Nurse or registered care professional as required.
Scope and Range
* Equip with knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Nursing Associate and work to a nationally recognised Code of Conduct.
* Work independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, within the scope of competence.
* Make decisions within scope of competence, liaise and report findings to Registered Nursing staff.
* Hold responsibility for own actions.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
* Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice.
* GCSE level 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous experience within a health / care setting.
* Understanding of the importance of promoting health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count).
Knowledge
* Understanding of the scope of the Nursing Associate role within the team and organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development.
* Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Insight into evaluating own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
* Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional.
Skills / Abilities
* Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise.
* IT skills appropriate to the role.
* Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers.
* Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times.
* Ability to handle non‑routine and unpredictable workload and patient contact.
* Ability to work on own initiative, be well motivated and motivate others.
* Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
* Resilience, managing personal emotions and stress.
* Ability to engage and complete preceptorship.
