Job Description
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning, emotional regulation, and personal development throughout the school day.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusion and making a real difference to a child’s educational experience.
Location: BurnleyHours: Full-time (term time only) 8:30am – 3:30pmSalary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
* Assist with learning activities, adapting tasks as needed
* Support social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans
* Encourage independence and confidence
* Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
* Support safeguarding and wellbeing at all times
About You
* Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
* Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to follow guidance and adapt support strategies
* Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
