The Role
As a Technical Designer, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating detailed design information for commercial office fit-out projects. You will work closely with interior designers, project managers, and contractors to ensure designs are technically sound, compliant, and fully buildable.
This role requires a technically proficient candidate who can operate confidently across multiple projects, balancing design excellence with practicality, compliance and programme demands. We are open to candidates from a traditional architectural background looking to transition into the dynamic world of D&B fit-out, as well as those already working in a similar environment who are seeking greater responsibility and exposure to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver detailed drawing packages including GA plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, and joinery details
* Oversee the production of detailed Revit models and comprehensive technical drawing packages
* Take ownership of design packages from through to completion on site
* Coordinate with MEP consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure integrated design solutions
* Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and project-specific requirements
* Attend site surveys, design meetings, and coordination workshops
* Provide technical support during construction, updating drawings as required and resolving on-site issues
* Review subcontractor drawings and ensure alignment with design intent
* Contribute to a proactive, solutions-focused team culture
Technical Requirements:
* Proficient in Revit, with experience working in a BIM environment
* Strong understanding of office fit-out construction and detailing
* Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, including fire safety and accessibility
* Experience coordinating multidisciplinary information, including MEP
* Ability to produce accurate, buildable technical drawing packages
* Understanding of CDM Regulations and design risk management
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Confidence and extensive experience in client-facing roles with exceptional, articulate presentation skills.
* Education: Architectural, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture degree/post-graduate level or equivalent industry experience.
* Experience: Experience in commercial office fit-out within a Design and Build environment is preferred. Open to candidates within traditional architectural position looking to get into the fast paced D&B industry.
