The City of London is a stand-out local authority that is headed by the Lord Mayor with the Court ofmon Council being it's main decision-making body. They are at the forefront of leadership from a local authority perspective. Their multidisciplinary teams consist of some of the most technical leaders within the Public Sector that work and deliver projects with a very similar mentality to the private sector. The council is responsible for all carbon-neutral goals and are actively delivering some exciting projects on some of Londons iconic skyline buildings.
Your new role
As an Electrical Building services Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting delivering variousmercial/corporate projects up to the value of half a million. You will be involved in these projects from inception topletion, including supporting during design stages through to writing detailed specifications, managing the tender process and selecting contractors to deliver. Then acting as the project manager, ensuring the works meet specifications, building regulations and council policies. As projects areing topletion, you will act as the liaison whilst handing over to internal teams tasked with maintaining the building moving forward. Typical projects include refurbishments, decarbonisation and fitouts.
What you'll need to succeed
The City of London would like to speak to candidates that have a strong track record of delivering electrical projects from inception topletion. You must be very technical and be a forward-thinking individual that understands the need to involve decarbonisation where possible with their projects. Ideally, you would have design abilities but, as a minimum, will have design understanding. You will need to be able to write detailed specifications and have a good understanding and proven track record of contract and project management. You must hold an HND or HNC Building Services or a in Engineering both apanied by other industry recognised electrical qualifications.
What you'll get in return
The City of London will offer £60,300 plus a full public sector package. Your salary is broken down as £55,300 per annum including a market force of £5,000, brought along with a local authority pension equating to and 28 days' holiday plus an additional 8 public holidays.
