An exciting, rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to join the Core Therapy Team at Whitby. This service is currently evolving to increase access opportunities for the community and surrounding areas. The individual will be supported to provide patients with interventions prescribed by a registered therapist, enhancing patient wellbeing and safety. Guided support and training will be available to ensure both patient and personal safety are prioritized.

The successful individual will assist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in providing activities that directly impact patients' lives in the community. This is a fulfilling position for anyone looking to enter the NHS caring profession. Support will be provided to practice within a team sharing common goals, fostering personal growth, experience, and development.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Undertake general duties within the department.
2. Provide Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy as delegated by a qualified therapist, within standard operating procedures, supporting patients and contributing to care planning as a team member.
3. Assist with moving and handling of patients.
4. Take vital observations.
5. Recognize and escalate issues of concern or safety, including deteriorating patients and safeguarding issues.
6. Provide equipment and instructions for use.
7. Work alone in the community setting, including patients' homes.
8. Transport self around the community to visit patients and provide care.
