About the role
We are recruiting an Operations Manager for our Global Manufacturing and Distribution Centre in Pocklington. This is a key appointment, central to our continued expansion across key global markets.
The scope of the role covers:
* Injection moulding
* Light manufacturing and assembly
* Warehousing and distribution
You will lead a team of supervisors and engineers (circa 30 people), reporting to the Group Managing Director and working closely with Planning, Quality, Finance and Product teams.
Key outcomes:
* Efficient, reliable operations and on‑time, in‑full delivery
* Highest standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
* Continuous improvement embedded across manufacturing and warehousing
Key duties & responsibilities
* Manage daily manufacturing and warehousing operations against clear KPIs and performance metrics.
* Own capacity planning across people, processes and equipment to meet customer demand.
* Develop and implement training plans, fostering a culture of customer focus, flexibility and safety.
* Identify, lead and sustain continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost, delivery and efficiency.
* Work with the senior leadership team to plan and justify capital and operational investments in line with the business plan.
* Instil and maintain a culture of zero defects and safe working practices throughout the operation.
* Plan and implement capital projects and introduce new product manufacturing into operations.
About you (skills, experience and attributes)
* Proven experience and demonstrable success in manufacturing leadership roles.
* Data‑driven, results‑oriented, with a strong “can do” attitude.
* Experience managing production machinery (ideally including plastic moulding) and warehousing operations.
* Strong knowledge of production planning, quality, and COSHH.
* Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills.
* Highly effective communicator and motivator with strong interpersonal skills.
* Flexible and comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic, growing business.
* Analytical thinker and practical problem solver.
* Ideally from an engineering background.
