Kelloholm Primary School is a vibrant, forward-thinking school set within the beautiful Nith Valley.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to work in early years on a temporary basis for up to 12 months. Applications for part-time hours (job share) will be considered.
Candidates should have a passion for working in early years and possess experience, knowledge, and understanding of learning through play. Knowledge of current documentation, such as Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence - Early Level, My World Outdoors, Funding Follows the Child, and the National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare providers, is desirable. You will be supported to inspire the learning of the children in our setting.
You will be required to lead self-evaluation in early years, develop and lead improvement and curricular planning, and be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff within the nursery setting.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately with colleagues and who have a firm commitment to improving outcomes for children.
This position may be suitable for secondment. Line Management approval should be sought before applying.
Applicants must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT, in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will need to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
