Ashley High School are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Maths teacher to join our outstanding team. We are seeking a primary trained or special education specialist teacher with experience of Autism/social communication and SEMH. The successful candidate will have the ability to form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils.
Required for maternity cover from as soon as possible and is expected to end on 17th July 2026 without the need for notice, or upon notice in accordance with Part 9 of GTCE in the event of the early return of the postholder, whichever is the sooner.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering Maths lessons and qualifications across the school (You may be required to teach other subjects as and when necessary). The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching qualifications such as Entry Level and Level 1 Functional Skills and be able to teach to a wide range of abilities. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives. You will also be expected to co-ordinate (although not necessarily teach all) Numeracy across the school working closely with the Maths and Literacy Co-ordinators. You will also have the additional responsibility of being a form tutor.
You will be tasked with creating exciting and inventive curriculums, aiming to utilise all of your resources and looking far beyond the confines of a classroom. This truly is an amazing opportunity to develop subjects with learning and engagement at the core of everything do.
