Overview
Starting immediately, full-time with 40 hours per week.
Basler is a leading international manufacturer of imaging components for computer vision applications including cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, software as well as embedded vision solutions, customized products and consulting services. The products are used in manufacturing, medical, traffic, logistics, retail, and robotics markets. Basler was founded in 1988 and employs approximately 1000 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg (near Hamburg) and other locations in Europe, Asia and North America.
Position Summary
Successful Key Account Managers aggressively pursue profitable business at new accounts and existing accounts. Winning new business and effectively managing and growing existing business are the highest priorities. Key Account Managers identify opportunities, engage key contacts, implement the Basler sales process and close business. They utilize company resources to achieve these goals. Key Accounts primarily include OEMs in Factory Automation, Medical/Life Sciences, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Semiconductor market segments. The territory includes the Southwestern United States. This position reports to the Western Regional Sales Manager. Travel as needed, often up to 20% of time.
Responsibilities
* Meet or exceed sales quota and assigned goals, including growing existing business and winning new business.
* Aggressively pursue viable and profitable new opportunities and projects for Basler components and solutions.
* Evaluate viability of opportunities to pursue based on revenue and profitability, and Basler strategic fit.
* Use creativity and perseverance with Key Accounts to advance the sales process and win components and solutions business.
* Establish and maintain productive relationships at accounts with breadth and depth to ensure engagement at multiple levels.
* Maintain knowledge of Basler products, solutions and competitive offerings and present Basler’s advantages to customers.
* Develop strong working relationships with sales and colleagues to share account and market information.
* Determine resources needed to win opportunities and manage resource utilization.
* Provide timely forecasts and maintain customer information in Salesforce.com.
* Provide guidance on target industries and opportunities to generate near-term and long-term revenue.
* Offer feedback on marketing, competitive activity and product suggestions to Basler contacts.
* Coordinate support resources locally and with Basler AG as needed.
* Manage loaner equipment to maximize revenue and minimize losses.
* Develop application and technical knowledge to assist customers with OEM design-ins and product development.
* Align day-to-day activities with business unit objectives and contribute to strategic direction through input from Key Accounts.
* Attend domestic and international sales meetings as needed to develop skills and share intelligence.
Desired Skills and Experience
* College degree with 5 years of sales experience in a technical industry is preferred.
* Technology affinity with basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, optical and illumination systems and familiarity with industrial imaging environments.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, with an ability to listen for customer needs and objectives.
* Ownership mindset and ability to see problems and opportunities through to resolution.
* Proactive in pursuing new business opportunities and discerning best fits for Basler.
* Ability to work globally with cultural sensitivity and respect.
* Organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Willingness to travel; total overnight travel roughly 20%.
