Technical Health & Safety Trainer - (2 Positions)
Role Description
NI Water's Learning & Development Centre plays a critical role in developing a safe, skilled, and confident workforce. As a Technical Trainer, you will design and deliver engaging, high quality learning that supports safety-critical operations, regulatory compliance, and organisational capability. You will work with modern training methods, including virtual reality simulation, blended learning, and experiential training, helping shape the future of learning within NI Water.
This role is suitable for both experienced trainers and individuals with strong operational/technical backgrounds who are ready to develop into a training role.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. A minimum of two years' experience of working in the Water Industry within an operational, engineering or scientific role and skills that demonstrate an aptitude for training delivery, such as:
a. Communicating technical information effectively to different audiences e.g. colleagues, contractors, or stakeholders.
b. Coaching, mentoring, or supporting team members in learning tasks or safe working practices.
c. Demonstrating processes, equipment, or safety procedures in a structured and confident manner.
d. Producing or contributing to operational guidance, SOPs, risk assessments, or technical documentation that supports learning.
e. Leading toolbox talks, safety briefings, or shift handovers involving the communication of technical or safety-critical information.
OR (in the absence of experience of working in the Water Industry within an operational, engineering or scientific role) A minimum of three years' experience to include all of the following:
a. Delivering technical, health and safety or operational training in a workplace setting
b. Training delivery to audiences of varying levels, length of service and roles within an organisation
c. Delivery of training to meet the required standards of an awarding body and specific measures of success to identify competence and understanding of training concepts
d. Health and Safety/ Technical training tailored to organisational best practices and H&S standards.

These roles offer a competitive remuneration package with a salary scale of £35,354 - £47,138 per annum (further pay award pending)
