Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and vulnerable adults? Do you have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills? The Children's Commissioning Team and Adult Social Care Commissioning Team are looking for a proactive Commissioning Support Officer to help design, procure, and manage services that improve lives across Kent.
About the Role
The Commissioning Support Officer is an exciting new role within the Council's Commissioning Teams. You will play a pivotal role in delivering the commissioning cycle for services that impact children, families, and vulnerable adults across Kent. Working alongside dedicated Commissioners and colleagues across KCC, you'll lead on low-risk and low-value services/contracts, ensuring all activities are evidence-based, provide value, and meet community needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing the commissioning process ensuring alignment with KCC's strategic outcomes.
* Leading effective contract management to drive value and improve service outcomes.
* Supporting service redesign initiatives to enhance outcomes and engagement.
* Administering low-value procurements and ensuring policy compliance.
* Conducting research, data analysis, and forecasting to inform commissioning plans.
* Building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, or a degree-level qualification, with a commitment to professional development.
* A solid understanding of the commissioning process and relevant legislation (e.g., Children's services, Adult Social Care, Public Health).
* Experience in project management and partnership working.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication abilities.
