What is the opportunity?As the Associate Director, you will be supporting the Director, Business and Client Services (BCS) Risk Control & Governance (RC&G) and the Head of BCS EU & APAC Operations with control oversight and SMF responsibilities as required.You will play a key role in supporting the execution of the Risk and Control framework across EU BCS.This position is full time and will require you to work a minimum of 4 days in the office per week with the option to work one day from home.What will you do?
1. Pro-active review of the control framework (processes, procedures, controls, reporting etc.) to ensure risks are proactively identified, measured, monitored, reported and escalated.
2. Thematic review and deep dives as required for specific business-functional areas.
3. Thought leadership and support for the continuous enhancement of operational risk management approaches, tools and Management Information aiming to develop, implement and continuously enhance operational risk management practices.
4. Oversight and support related to Operational Risk events, coordinating with the central CM operational risk & control group to ensure events are accurately captured and remediation actions are appropriate.
5. Root cause analysis of audit points, operational risks actions and events, KRI trends with the view to recommend mitigation strategies or where management attention is required to enhance the control infrastructure.
6. Partnership with internal and external stakeholders to assist reviews and implementation of specific regulatory or market changes across the relevant departments considering internal policy, processes and operational risks.
7. Oversight and support related to Risk Management activities such as Risk Register development and RCSAs.
8. Oversight and support related to Control Assurance and Continuous Monitoring activities for European and APAC Business & Client Services group, ensuring control deficiencies are identified, escalated and remediated while adhering to internal policies.
9. Support the continuous implementation and governance of ongoing monitoring in respect to ICMP compliance for BCS key control assessments in collaboration and alignment with BCS Risk, Control and Governance (RC&G) leads.
10. Delivery of End-to-End Process Reviews, highlighting potential gaps in BCS control environment and coordinating for the remediation of potential gaps.
11. Coordination of Operational Risk or Compliance training by the respective areas as and when necessary.
12. Review of policies related to the risk management, resulting in advisory feedback and input as necessary.
13. Preparation of papers to governing bodies or committees.
What do you need to succeed?Must-have
14. Bachelor's degree or equivalent / similar
15. Experience in Capital Markets Broker / Dealer Operations
16. Thorough understanding of Operational Risk
17. Ability to collaborate with team members to review businesses, products and functional areas to identify key risks and synergy opportunities
18. Strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively
19. Expert/High proficiency level across Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
20. Ability to work independently and is results and execution focused orientation with strong analytical and logical problem solving skills
21. Ability to work under pressure and balance a diverse set of priorities.
