Blackpool Teaching Hospitals' Child Health department is on a mission to provide excellent care to the families of our locality, and we're seeking a number of talented and enthusiastic Locally Employed Doctors, ST3+, in Paediatric Medicine to join our expanding team. Successful applicants will work on the Middle Grade rota, including on-call duties.
At Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, you'll:
* Play a pivotal role: Help the team deliver exceptional care to children in the area, support on-call commitments, and shape the future of the Child Health Department.
* Work with the best: Collaborate with consultant paediatricians, advanced nurse practitioners specializing in Neonates and Paediatrics, dedicated to high-quality patient care. Join a team of 15 WTE consultants and 6 tier 2 doctors providing integrated paediatric care.
Job responsibilities include:
* Inpatient paediatrics: Assess and manage acute referrals from A&E and primary care, care for inpatients, and supervise first on-call trainees.
* Neonatal Unit: Ongoing care of babies in NNU, transitional, and post-natal wards; support for first on trainees; attendance at high-risk deliveries.
* Outpatient clinics: Attend designated clinics mainly at BVH, with occasional outreach and community clinics, all supervised by a consultant.
* Safeguarding: Assess and manage safeguarding referrals under supervision; participate in peer review meetings.
* Administration: Handle e-discharges, safeguarding reports, outpatient letters, and Badger summaries.
