About Knowl Park House
Knowl Park House Dementia Day opportunities moved into a new building based in Mirfield in November 2024. The building has been specially designed for Dementia care and we will be looking after up to 40 service users each day, offering a wide range of person-centred activities within the centre and in the community. The day service is a modern, flexible centre that will cater for up to 40 people living with dementia each day (currently Mon–Fri when at capacity). The service includes facilities that enhance enjoyment of life for people with dementia in Kirklees.
The Role
We are seeking someone with a can-do attitude. The role will mainly involve driving a council minibus across the borough of Kirklees to pick up and drop off our users. There may be occasions where the jobholder may also undertake basic maintenance of buildings and grounds. The working pattern is usually between 8am–10am and 3pm–5pm Monday to Friday; flexibility around these hours can be discussed with successful candidates later.

Due to the manual nature of the job, a good level of fitness is essential, as is the ability to drive a minibus. You must hold a full and valid manual driving license, ideally with category D1. You must be willing to undertake and pass the Kirklees Council driving test and travel between sites using a Council vehicle. Successful candidates may be expected to commence work in either Huddersfield or Mirfield depending on service needs and bus availability.
