We are delighted to be supporting an established, family-owned FMCG business in their search for a Technical Specification Technologist to join their growing Technical team.
The Business:
· Independent, family-owned company with 30+ years of success
· UK-based with strong international presence, including the Netherlands
· Brand owners importing ambient food products primarily from Asia and Japan
· A diverse portfolio of 300+ products across multiple categories (organic, vegan, health foods)
· Products sold in 60+ countries, including major UK supermarkets and independent retailers
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a customer-focused technical role with real variety and responsibility. You will be the go-to person for technical documentation, customer requests, and internal support.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
· Managing the technical inbox as the primary point of contact for customer queries
· Completing customer forms, questionnaires, and portal submissions
· Providing internal teams with accurate technical information and support
· Carrying out label checks and ensuring compliance on allergens and ingredient declarations
· Supporting export documentation and organic certification requirements
· Liaising with suppliers when needed (light communication compared to customer focus)
· Working across a varied product portfolio and learning the range quickly
· Contributing to improved systems and processes within the team
About You:
· 2–3 years’ experience in a food technical role (ideally customer-facing)
· Understanding of GFSI standards and certification requirements
· Experience with organic standards, food labelling, allergens, and packaging regulations
· Strong documentation and specification experience
· Comfortable multitasking across a busy and varied inbox
· Confident communicator with strong attention to detail
· Export documentation experience is advantageous
