Overview
Technical Operator (Nights) at PREMIER OFFICE SYSTEMS, Runcorn. Mon – Fri 22.00 – 06.00. Salary: £35,000.
Responsibilities
* Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair the clean room within the Runcorn facility.
* Support the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery).
* Work within an autonomous team to drive production delivery and continuous improvement, while protecting a safe and sustainable environment.
* Champion specific skills and coach others; grow understanding of key cost drivers in the clean room in line with project management skills.
* Ensure KPI management in the clean room and work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Ecommerce and production teams to deliver excellence to customers.
* Apply technical knowledge to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair (OMIR) equipment to meet targets safely, with quality, and on time.
* Understand mechanism and motion principles and conduct changeovers on bottling and pouch lines.
* Identify and troubleshoot problems with packing machines; perform basic repairs such as fixing jams and resolving minor mechanical issues.
* Follow safety and environmental procedures to ensure a safe working environment; reduce waste and minimise impact on health, safety and environment.
* Promote quality in line with Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.
* Foster a highly effective, autonomous team through strong communication, leading by example and conflict management while focusing on goals and targets.
* Coach team members to develop skills and drive excellence.
* Use performance measures to identify and prioritise losses; apply Cost Deployment and zero-loss concepts to eliminate losses.
* Identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques to prevent recurrence.
* Agree production plan targets and review performance to drive functional goals at individual and team level.
* Understand the need to meet changing demands and the role of marketing and product innovation in growing the business.
Skills & Experience
* Core Engineering Skills – background in Maintenance, Bench fitting and/or Machining.
* Experience of working as part of an extended team within the manufacturing sector.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience
Experience of manufacturing in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods company; experience as a team member within a project management team with awareness of project management tools and techniques.
