About you
While previous experience isn’t required, you should share our REACH values and possess a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have the ability to develop positive relationships with people and be passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals to reach their potential.
You’ll want to make a positive difference in people’s lives and take pride in delivering high-quality support. You believe that people have a right to control and define their own lives, regardless of disability, and see your role as enabling them to do this by supporting their engagement in various activities within our centres and the wider community.
We understand that no one will meet every single qualification. If your experience differs slightly from our description and you believe you can add value to the role, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
You will work alongside a team of staff at one of our Learning Disability Day Service bases in Bury, with usual hours between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, on a casual basis primarily covering holidays and sickness. The role offers flexibility, allowing you to choose your working hours.
As a support worker, your responsibilities include supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to engage in activities of their choice, either in groups or individually. This is a physically active role involving moving and positioning people (moving and handling), supporting with personal care, assisting wheelchair users indoors and outdoors, helping with public transport, and facilitating community activities such as swimming, voluntary work, dance sessions, and sports.
Further details are available in the job description.
In return for your contribution, we will support your career development
We offer a wide range of employee benefits, career development opportunities, and lifestyle support services to ensure you feel supported, fulfilled, and valued from day one.
