Main duties of the job

As the General Manager - RGN, your focus will be to lead and motivate a team to provide excellent, safe, and caring service to residents in a stimulating environment. Key responsibilities include ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centered care, managing staff recruitment and development, liaising with stakeholders, maintaining safe staffing levels, and managing budgets effectively.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as General Manager will be to lead and inspire a team to deliver excellent person-centred quality care to residents in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, whilst meeting regulatory requirement, professional and statutory standards, and business performance targets.

Other responsibilities will include:

* Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care, person centred care and ensuring residents receive care based on best practice.
* Being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
* Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents wellbeing.
* Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with both occupancy and dependency.
* Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
* Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls, by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.

* Have a minimum of four years of experience in a similar care environment.
* Have Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent.
* Hold a current NMC.
* Possess excellent leadership and management skills.
* Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and be competent in IT.
* Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of four years' experience in a similar care environment, a Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification or equivalent, a current NMC registration, excellent leadership and management skills, strong communication and IT abilities, and the adaptability to handle a range of responsibilities.
