Maintenance and Groundskeeper Glasgow, Clydebank | Mon- Fri 8-4 | Full time, Perm | £26K Role Overview Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance and Groundskeeper to support the smooth operation of multi-site facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that buildings and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and visually presentable for staff and visitors. This hands-on role involves a wide range of duties, including general repairs, plumbing, painting, groundskeeping, and safety compliance checks. Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the premises, including lighting, fixtures, fittings, and basic electrical work. Conduct routine inspections of the facilities, identifying and reporting any defects, hazards, or health and safety concerns. Log maintenance issues and arrange or carry out necessary repairs within agreed timescales. Host and liaise with external contractors completing site repairs or maintenance work. Perform regular emergency lighting and fire alarm tests, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations. Complete minor plumbing work, such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains, and maintaining water systems. Undertake basic painting and decorating to maintain clean and presentable facilities. Support Legionella compliance through regular water system checks and record keeping. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, prioritising urgent issues to minimise disruption. Assist in maintaining HVAC systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation. Maintain tidy, organised, and safe work areas in line with health and safety requirements. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve maintenance issues and support operational needs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs. Carry out general groundskeeping duties, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed control, litter collection, and cleaning of hard surfaces. Operate a forklift truck to unload equipment into the warehouse (training can be provided if required). Perform other reasonable duties relevant to the role as requested. Candidate Requirements Good general education. Recognised trade qualification preferred (e.g., Joiner, Electrician, HVAC Engineer, Painter, Multi-skilled Engineer). Forklift and/or IPAF licence desirable. Previous experience working in a commercial or office environment. Proven background in maintenance, caretaking, or a relevant trade. Full, clean UK driving licence. Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
